Semana Europeia da Mobilidade’ 22

European Mobility Week' 22

For a more sustainable mobility!

A EuropeanMobilityWeek has a 20-year history and aims to raise awareness among European citizens about the need to change behaviour, in particular regarding the use of private cars and the consequences of their excessive use on the environment.

With the motto #BetterConnections we celebrate once again Mobility Week through a set of initiatives designed to enable everyone to make more and better decisions regarding their mobility.

For Wellow™, thinking about more sustainable mobility alternatives in our daily lives is key as it is our biggest impact on carbon footprint!

In addition to sharing numerous data and facts about mobility and the main indicators of the group When it comes to our carbon footprint, we know that often the hard part is getting started. To motivate to action, our Wellow™ Sports sponsored participation by anyone in the group in the Walkathlon on the 17th (Porto) and 18th (Lisbon), with 11 participants showing that the healthiest way to get from A to B is still the simple act of walking.

On the other hand, the bicycle is a good competitor for longer journeys, as our Jéssica Simões reminded us: coming from Palmela to Carnaxide is an excellent motivator for those who excuse themselves with the distance! Remember her testimony here.

On our side, we ensure that we have somewhere to leave the bike safely, having inaugurated the Bicycle Park in our Central Services in Carnaxide, with space for 5 bicycles.

But we wanted to go even further and launched an internal competition to raffle off a Riverside bike to give the final push to those who would like to have a healthier and more environmentally friendly option for their commuting! The big winner was Rita Carvalho from Knower™ who literally took his bike home!

Fortunately, the current social and business trend has been increasing its awareness and commitment to the environment, carrying out actions that are increasingly sustainable and beneficial to the planet.

And you, do you know how to create #BetterConnections for more sustainable mobility?
